FAST GROWING FASHION RETAILER DRIVES UP QUALITY WITH NEW PACKAGING PARTNERSHIP

Street style fashion retailer, Couture Club, has joined forces with fellow Manchester-based business, retail packaging specialist Duo UK, to drive up the quality of its online fulfilment, as it continues its rapid upward sales trajectory.

With sales predicted to hit £15 million this year, founders Scott Shashua and Ross Worswick, have turned to Duo UK to supply its market-leading branded mailing bags. Offering unprecedented quality, the bags are specifically designed to ensure products reach their destination safely and securely – ensuring the brand retains tight control of the customer experience at every stage of the journey.

Scott Shashua co-founder of Couture Club said: “Our clothing may be flying off the shelves, but when it comes to the operations side of our business, we’ve made every mistake going. In the past we have cut corners sourcing packaging from China in a bid to save money, but have ended up with a product that really didn’t do our brand justice.

“Our growth means that we need to work with suppliers that match our ethos – with quality and customer service at the heart of everything that we do. Duo does just that – as well as having the added benefit of being local to us. They have worked in partnership with us to offer new ideas and they understand how important our brand is to our business.

“The next few years are set to be really exciting. Now is the time to put partners and suppliers in place who can support us through this growth and be part of this monumental journey.”

Founded in 2015, Couture Club prides itself on its Manchester-created street style clothing, which offers premium quality at high street prices. Numerous celebrities and footballers are fans and sales have grown by 2,900 per cent in the three years the company has been in business.

Originally an online-only brand, in October 2017 Couture Club launched its first bricks and mortar store – a three-month pop-up at Intu Trafford Centre. With further pop-ups in Dublin and Newcastle in operation, plans are in place to open a further 10 physical stores in 2019.

With its bricks and mortar stores driving increased brand recognition and online traffic and sales, the retailer has now placed a renewed focus on its internal operations to drive quality throughout its business.

Zoe Brimelow, brand director for Duo UK, said: “Having supplied bespoke packaging solutions to some of the UK’s leading retailers, including JD Sports and Tesco, we understand how important quality, durability and security is when creating the right impression for customers.

“Couture Club is a real retail success story and it is fantastic to be supporting a brand that is growing rapidly and turning heads in the sector, not to mention the fact that we are neighbours! We look forward to continuing this new partnership and supporting the brand as its sales continue to outperform all expectations.”

Based in Manchester and established in 1988, Duo UK produces polythene mailing bags for a range of clients, including JD Williams, JD Sports and Tesco. This year the company announced a 16 per cent growth in turnover, keeping the company on track to reach revenue of £30 million by the end of 2018 – its 30th year in business.
