Accountancy firm expands into York offices following successful year
Yorkshire accountancy firm, Garbutt + Elliott has expanded its York office into new 13,600 sq ft premises.
This is said to have followed on from a record year which has seen 45 new starters, including one new partner, join the now 156-strong practice.
The move sees the York office space increase by over 15 per cent. Additionally, its Leeds office is also in the process of moving and upgrading its space.
Garbutt + Elliott’s managing partner, Russell Turner, said: “We have enjoyed significant growth in the past year and with so many new people joining our team, we’ve outgrown our current home in York.
“The redevelopment work carried out in the new office space has transformed it into an impressive, exciting and functional working environment.
“The space created is open and collaborative, allowing for a more efficient and friendly work environment, whilst reflecting Garbutt + Elliott’s focus on delivering excellent service.
“It marks a huge milestone for the company, its employees and customers who will all benefit from the opportunities this expansion presents.”
The relocation allows for the firm to continue its headcount growth across its tax, accounting, audit, wealth management, payroll and corporate finance teams, whilst providing its staff and clients with possible surroundings from where to work and meet.
During its last financial year, Garbutt + Elliott saw its turnover increase by 19 per cent to £7m and this trend has continued in the new financial year.
This was driven by a series of new business wins including Shepherd’s Purse, Age UK Leeds, TEV, Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, and food manufacturer, Heck Food.
Commercial property lawyer, Jonathan Moore, of Lupton Fawcett advised on the lease.
