Buildbase renews FA Vase and Trophy sponsorship deal

National builders’ merchant Buildbase has secured a new sponsorship deal with the Football Association, extending its naming rights of the FA Trophy and FA Vase for a further three years.

England’s two premier non-league competitions will be known as “The Buildbase FA Trophy” and “The Buildbase FA Vase” until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Buildbase first signed a deal with The FA to be named title sponsor in 2016. The two-year contract has seen the builders’ merchant support the clubs taking part in the FA Trophy and FA Vase with a renovation programme. Building materials worth up to £200,000 have been awarded to Hanwell Town, Cleethorpes Town, Cheadle Town and Needham Market. The initiative will re-launch over the coming days.

Paul Roche, MD of Buildbase said: “This extended contract cements our commitment to grassroots football and we will continue to support the clubs taking part at every level. This is not just an investment in two brilliant competitions, but in the communities that they play such an important role in.”

Mark Bullingham, Chief Commercial & Football Development Officer, The FA, said: “We are delighted to have extended our relationship with Buildbase, as our partnership benefits the very heart of the non-league game. In particular, Buildbase’s support has already had transformative effects on some clubs and now even more will benefit in the future. We look forward to continuing our work together over the next three seasons.”

The Buildbase FA Trophy is open to clubs playing in Steps 1-4 of The FA National League System; the four tiers immediately below League Two of the English Football League. The forthcoming season will see 295 clubs contesting for the top honours.

The Buildbase FA Vase is open to clubs at Steps 5-7 of The FA National League System and will see 638 clubs participating.

Last season, in The Buildbase FA Trophy Brackley Town defeated Bromley 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra-time. In The Buildbase FA Vase meanwhile, Thatcham Town secured a 1-0 victory over Stockton Town.
