Buildbase invites non-league football clubs to apply for £100k renovation programme

The FA Trophy and FA Vase sponsor, Buildbase is giving clubs taking part in the competitions the chance to have their facilities transformed.

The “£100k Transfer Deal” will give away £25,000 worth of renovation building materials to four clubs this season (2018/19).

There will be two opportunities for clubs taking part in the Buildbase FA Trophy or Buildbase FA Vase to enter their projects in the “£100k Transfer Deal”. The first round of applications is now open and invited through Buildbase.co.uk until 27 January 2019. The second renovation programme will re-open for entries in Spring 2019.

Over the coming weeks Buildbase branches across England will be helping clubs to plan and cost their projects. The merchant is also offering a discount on building materials to clubs taking part in the Buildbase FA Trophy and Buildbase FA Vase as well as their fans.

Paul Roche, Managing Director of Buildbase said: “Whether you win, lose or draw, we’re supporting grassroots football at every level. This year we’re giving away more opportunities for clubs to transform their facilities. Benefiting not just the teams but local communities too, it’s a win-win all round.”

Clubs taking part in the “£100k Transfer Deal” will be calling on fans to support their application through the Buildbase website and social media. The club with the most votes will score a “golden ticket” with automatic entry to the final. Buildbase and the FA will select a further five finalists. All six shortlisted clubs will be invited to pitch their renovation plans to a panel of judges at Wembley Stadium.

Non-league football champion and TALKSport presenter, Tony Incenzo is urging fans to support the programme: “Your local football club serves your community in terms of belonging, diversity and inclusivity for people of all ages. Please support your local club with their application through the Buildbase website to win this fantastic £25,000 worth of building materials.”

The Buildbase renovation programme has been running since the builders’ merchant became the title sponsor of the FA Trophy and Vase in 2016. So far, building materials worth up to £200,000 have been given away. Previous winners have included Hanwell Town, Cleethorpes Town, Cheadle Town and Needham Market.
