Speculative industrial site in Dewsbury sparks early interest amid construction

Construction work has started on a 1.73 acre speculative industrial park at Calder Bank Road, Dewsbury.

The 65-tonne steel building frames are currently being erected by developer, D Noble in Castleford.

Calder Bank Business Park which is approximately half a mile south of Dewsbury town centre and close to M1 junction 40, will comprise seven single-storey, light industrial units and is due for completion in March 2019.

Carter Towler’s industrial agency director, Josh Holmes, said: “It is great to see D Noble Ltd taking the bold move to deliver this scheme speculatively.

“There is very little industrial stock available locally of this size and quality, so perhaps it’s not surprising that there has been a lot of interest so early in the project. Two units are already under offer which is very encouraging.

“Ideal for small to medium-sized businesses, the properties range from 2,390 to 5,250 sq ft and can be purchased or leased.”

The high quality units will have clear span steel portal frames, eave heights of approximately six metres and insulated metal profile sheet roofs with translucent roof lights.

Each unit will have sealed concrete floors, roller shutters, personnel doors and will be fitted out with offices, toilets and kitchenettes.

Carter Towler and joint agents Hanson Chartered Surveyors are marketing the Calder Bank development on behalf of D Noble.
