Standish Residents Find Dream Home Right On Their Doorstep

With only one home left to buy at Countryside’s Barrowcroft Green development, the neighbourhood is coming to life as families and couples settle into their new homes. For one local family, they didn’t have to move too far to find their dream home.

After 13 years of living in the same terrace house in Wigan, Gemma and Paul Norton were ready to move to a more spacious home in a family-friendly area. Just 18 months later they found exactly what they wanted nearby, in the rural town of Standish.

Gemma commented: “We’d been looking for the perfect home for about a year and a half and, having looked all around our local area, we just kept coming back to Barrowcroft Green. It’s such a nice place to live as it provides the best of both worlds; a lovely wooded area and countryside right on our doorstep, but with the town centre just a short drive away.

“We knew straight away that we’d found the home for us. It has plenty of space and lots of natural light from the French doors and skylights, plus a stunning feature window on the stairs that reaches from the ground floor to the top floor.”

Gemma and Paul are moving into their new home with their two children Stanley (6) and Hattie (3), so finding the right place for them to grow up safely was a key factor for the family.

Gemma continued: “Not long after we moved in all the neighbours got together to organise a street party for the Royal Wedding and it was really nice to meet everyone. It really is the family orientated area we wanted.”

Gemma and Paul were able to purchase their new home and sell their old one quickly, thanks to Countryside’s Part Exchange scheme.

Gemma added: “The Part Exchange scheme was amazing; it was so easy and made the process a lot less stressful. We had our old home valued three months prior to selling it and were really pleased when we were offered exactly what we were expecting. It really did make the whole experience a lot better.”

Deborah Hughes, Regional Sales and Marketing Director, said: “It’s always an incredibly rewarding experience when we see developments go from construction sites to thriving neighbourhoods, as families move into their new homes. The community atmosphere that’s been created at Barrowcroft Green is very close-knit and, with just one home available, anyone wanting to buy here must act fast.

“At Countryside, we want homebuyers like Gemma and Paul to enjoy their moving experience and schemes like Part Exchange really do help to take the stress away. It’s fantastic to hear how it’s benefitted the Norton family and we hope they enjoy their new home at Barrowcroft Green.”
