Brits Reveal The Worst Christmas Gifts Ever

From cold brussel sprouts to a purse made from human hair, some scrooge Brits are failing miserably at picking gifts that people actually want.

More than three quarters would keep quiet if they received a present they didn’t like, but given the choice, two thirds would prefer to receive a voucher over a gift.

Some of the worst Christmas gifts people have received include:

A toilet seat Second hand hair rollers (with the previous owner’s hair still attached) A James Blunt LP and a Tony Blair DVD Wheelie Bin Stickers Regifted soap

One person got an egg poacher - despite being vegan - and another received a My Little Pony makeup set at the age of 27!

Research from Campanile UK shows that it really is the thought that counts, with holidays and marriage proposals ranked high on the nice list. The best gifts received include:

A hot air balloon ride
A star constellation named after family members who passed away A DNA Ancestry Test A Necklace with a child’s footprint The arrival of a new baby daughter

When asked to complete the sentence “It wouldn’t be Christmas without…” people listed turkey, Christmas songs, pigs in blankets, excited children and the Queen’s speech as the things that make it extra special.

The aim of the research was to find out what really makes Christmas magical and all Brits really want for Christmas is you, with almost half saying that it just wouldn’t be Christmas without family.

Mark Aldridge, Director of Operations Louvre Hotels Group UK said: “The findings show that more personal gifts and time with loved ones are what people really want at Christmas. On the back of the research, we’d like to encourage people to make memories and spend time with each other, rather than buy expensive gifts.”
