Festive Focus: Meet the managing director of Animmersion
Can you introduce yourself and your business to our readers?
“I’m Dominic Lusardi, the managing director here at Animmersion where we have a team of just under 20, based in the Boho, Middlesbrough, established since 2006.
“We are one of the country’s leading designers and suppliers of immersive technologies – VR/AR, dashboards, user interfaces, apps and animations – and work across a number of sectors including museums, retail, offshore & subsea, energy, process industries, engineering, construction, defence and education.
“Animmersion creates immersive experiences that can be shown on almost any device.”
What was your company’s biggest achievement of the year?
“We’ve had an amazing year and have travelled all around the world but our biggest achievement came right here in the North East, where we have been involved in the Great Exhibition of the North.
“From VR installations for wind turbines and virtual cranes to the world’s largest mixed reality window, we have had an amazing time being involved in what was a truly spectacular event.
“Watching the public interact with DeepFrame at the Great North Museum, where children saw a raptor running around by the T-rex, to seeing everyone face when they VJ’d their own Great North hologram, we were taken aback by just how well this was received.
“On top of meeting various people from HRH Prince William to Mark Carney, head of the Bank of England, plus many more, and presenting at the various events around the exhibition, 2018 has really been a memorable year.”
How would you approach 2018 differently, given the chance?
“Invent a time machine so we can do it all again.”
What are your company’s plans for the new year?
“Animmersion will continue to grow the company in the coming year, taking advantage as we see the wider adoption of immersive technologies as part of core business operations.
“We will also be looking to extend our reach further around the globe than ever before with various event plans both nationally and internationally.”
What are your plans for the festive season?
“It’s been a great year. We will be closing the office just before the Christmas break and giving everyone a well-deserved break until the new year, once we given out our secret Santa’s of course.
“We’ll also be launching this year’s festive game so stay tuned to our social media if you want to take part.”
