Ouseburn Farm launches ‘Loud Tie Day’ to beat those January blues

Ouseburn Farm Charity is encouraging people to participate in Loud Tie Day on Friday 25th January to overcome those January blues whilst raising much needed funds for the farm.

With the winter blues well and truly upon us after the festive break, the farm has organised a competition by inviting you to don your loudest tie or scarf.

The competition, which launched this morning, is open to everyone including schools, businesses and organisations, public figures and even celebrities to wear their most colourful neckwear. Some of the animals at the farm may even get involved too!

It’s easy to enter, all you have to do is wear your loudest tie or scarf, get together for a selfie and post the photo on social media using the hashtag #ouseburnfarmmademedoit. In return, all we’re asking for is a minimum donation of £1 per person, which will contribute towards the farm and its on-site facilities.

There will be prizes for the most outrageous tie and for the business or group who raise the most money.

Sylvia Stoneham, Community and Events Fundraiser from Ouseburn Farm, said: “January can be quite a dull and miserable time for many people, so we wanted to lighten the mood and inject it with some colour and creativity by organising a Loud Tie Day. In addition, you’ll be helping to raise some much-needed funds towards the running costs of the farm.

“This is something everyone can get involved with and all staff and volunteers here at the farm including staff from our parent company, Tyne Housing Group will also be taking part.

“So, delve into the back of the wardrobe, get yourself down to the charity shops or wear those unwanted Christmas gifts and let’s have some fun!”

To register, please contact the farm on 0191 232 3698 or email fundraising@ouseburnfarm.org.uk and we will send you a resource pack with a poster template to add your own details, print and display around the workplace or school to encourage others to join in the January fun.
