Jamie's Back for Good
Jamie Thomas, from Caergwrle, who works at Wrexham Volkswagen is celebrating achieving fully qualified Volkswagen Service Advisor accreditation, though he’s had a rather unusual route to achieving this award.
“I qualified as a Technician, but then decided to try working in Parts, which I did for several years before deciding, 12 years ago, on a total change of career and taking on a completely new challenge making bespoke windows and doors as a wood machinist”, explained Jamie.
“All the heavy lifting injured my back, so I knew I needed to change career again. I saw the role as Service Advisor at Wrexham Volkswagen advertised and I decided to do some research into what the job entailed and into Wrexham VW, as I’d found out it was owned by a family business, Swansway Motor Group, but being absolutely honest, I’d never heard of them”!
“I thought my personality would really suit the job, as I’m very chatty and like to go out of my way to help; I applied and got the job and now I’ve finished all the exams and I’ve been awarded full VW Accreditation, which I’m just so chuffed with”, added Jamie.
Jamie’s boss, Aftersales Manager, Jonathan Blake commented, “We are really proud of Jamie, his focus, determination and sheer hard work have produced an excellent result for him and for our customers; Jamie has great empathy and is a genuinely likeable guy who likes to go the extra mile, he’s a real asset to our team and we couldn’t be more proud of his achievement”.
A delighted Jamie added, “You could say that my back brought me back, but it’s been the best move I’ve ever made”.
