Solider Sets Up A Base In Ellesmere Port

Having travelled the world with the British Army, Luke Dawson is now settling down with his family after finding their forever home at Countryside’s Wellington Place development, in Ellesmere Port.

The British soldier and his wife, Simmone, decided to relocate to the North West so they could put down roots for their daughter, Amelia (4).

Luke commented: “We made the decision over a year ago to find a permanent home for Amelia to grow up in. We chose the North West as we wanted to be close to family, who live in Warrington and Congleton. So Ellesmere Port is an ideal location due to its proximity to the motorway and other transport links.

“We did look around a few different developments, but as soon as we saw the Ellesmere home design we knew that was the one for us. It was the layout and high specification that attracted us to a Countryside home, with the skylight windows in the open plan kitchen and the separate family room being the key features that really sold it to us. Plus, the quality of the specification is amazing - from the kitchen worktops and appliances to the vanity units in the bathroom suites - we were so surprised that it all came as standard with our home.”

Due to Luke’s career in the army, he was eligible for the Forces Help To Buy scheme, which allows servicemen and servicewomen to borrow up to 50% of their salary, interest free, to help them get onto the property ladder.

Luke added: “Using the Help to Buy scheme made buying our home so much easier. Getting a mortgage was something we were worried about as we had never been through this process before. If we hadn’t used Help to Buy, then it would have been a very stressful time for us. Overall our experience was great and we would definitely recommend both the Help to Buy scheme and Countryside to our friends.”

Deborah Hughes, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at Countryside, said: “Wellington Place is the first development that we’ve built in Ellesmere Port and it’s experienced unprecedented success since its launch last year, with all homes reserved within 12 months of the showhomes opening.

“Home buying schemes such as Help to Buy have been a vital lifeline for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder and we’re pleased that Luke and Simmone have chosen to settle down at Wellington Place. We wish them a lifetime of happiness in their new home.”
