Private psychology and counselling practice opens fourth clinic in Sunderland
Select Psychology, a private counselling and clinical psychology practice, has opened its fourth clinic in Sunderland.
Select Psychology launched in 2016 in Tynemouth, and has grown from three therapists to team of over 15 delivering counselling, CBT and psychology treatments to children and adults.
The organisation now has four main clinics and several satellite clinics across the region said to enable easier access.
Dr Matilda Moffett, clinical psychologist and co-founder of Select Psychology, said: “It’s fantastic that people are recognising that it’s just as important to look after your mental health as well as your physical health in order to have a fulfilling life.
“There certainly has been a great shift over the last few years in how people talk about issues that they have and are more willing to seek help to overcome them.”
Select Psychology work with families, adults and children, with all therapists having specialisms covering therapies and issues including: weight management; post traumatic stress disorder; bereavement; relationship problems; anxiety; and depression.
Matilda concluded: “We are finding more and more employers, public services and GPs are referring people to us as they recognise that there isn’t the budget or the resource available in the NHS to meet the demand.
“The same as poor physical health; having poor mental health will greatly impact the lives of the sufferers and their loved ones.
“Our focus is to help our patients overcome their issues by giving them access to the right face to face treatment quickly.”
