Seven Vine Hotels properties join the Meetings Industry Association

Seven properties within the Vine Hotels portfolio have joined the Meetings Industry Association (mia) to help gain the ‘professionalism and credibility’ associated with mia membership.

Hotel owner, operator and manager Vine Hotels represents a portfolio of hotels across a wide range of brands and locations in the UK and is hoping to further grow its meetings business as a new member.

The hotels which can now access a host of benefits as mia members are: Kenwood Hall, Mosborough Hall, Best Western Cutlers Hotel, Whirlowbrook Hall and Doubletree by Hilton Sheffield Park, all in Sheffield; Best Western Cresta Court in Manchester and Mercure Southampton Centre Dolphin Hotel in Southampton. As members of the mia, organisations and businesses gain access to increased sales opportunities, more chances to network and receive preferential rates for training and professional development events. Membership also provides access to data and industry insight from the association’s benchmarking tool miaTouchstone.

The selected Vine Hotels properties are also AIM accredited. To be eligible for AIM – the industry’s only recognised quality standard for the meetings industry – venues must demonstrate high standards in several key areas. Each venue is tested by an independent panel of assessors against a strict array of criteria, including quality of facilities, legal compliance, customer value proposition and best practice standards before being accredited.

Garin Davies, chief executive of Vine Hotels, said: “Conference clients and bookers now have a wealth of quality venue choices, in a market that is constantly evolving and growing. Offering them the reassurance, professionalism and credibility associated with mia membership provides them with another reason to choose Vine Hotels when booking.

“I am delighted that our Hotel teams will also have the opportunity to share knowledge, experience and skills through mia events and forums. In return we take confidence that our membership will not only add to our marketing opportunities at a senior level within the conference industry but will deliver us a growth in meeting business across our properties in Sheffield, Manchester and Southampton.”

Jane Longhurst, chief executive of the mia, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming these seven properties in the Vine Hotels portfolio to the mia. Joining the mia gives members access to a wealth of benefits which can help make individuals and businesses more informed about and better equipped to succeed in the market they are operating in. We look forward to supporting Vine Hotels as they look to grow their meetings business now and in the future.”
