Tameside Business Woman and Entrepreneur shortlisted for FSB Business Award
Tameside Business Woman and local Entrepreneur Val Dickinson of Defero Consultancy Ltd has been shortlisted for the Federation of Small Business (FSB) Micro Business of the Year (Area Finalist) Val, started Defero Consultancy a Boutique Marketing Company in February 2013 and as she approaches her 6th year into self employment the business has gone from strength to strength. Val is no stranger to awards as she has been nominated twice for a Northern Power Woman Award for the categories ‘One to Watch’ and ‘Mentor of the Year’ and been a finalist twice in the Pride of Tameside Business Awards. Born and Bred in Tameside, Val’s career started in Education where she worked in Marketing for 23 years in a large FE College before embarking on setting up her own Marketing and PR Business. Val is an experienced Marketing and PR professional with extensive knowledge and experience in Marketing and Communications, Social Media Account Management, Training and Public Relations, The portfolio of past and current clients includes many diverse organisations ranging from Start-ups, - SMEs, Franchises and Charities. Val and her team are also passionate about supporting SMEs and Women’s Groups with all aspects of their marketing and social media. In particular, Val has an affinity with Women Entrepreneurs over 50 who are in the process of starting their own business. She is also a Mentor Advisor for the Business Growth Hub based in Manchester. Val, commented, “At Defero we believe you create what you envisage.
