New Clinical Trainer for local Care Force
Agency nursing provider Local Care Force & Local care Force Training has bolstered its team with the appointment of Marija Greenwood as a Clinical Nurse Trainer.
Marija joins the Local Care Force team from Manchester Metropolitan University where for the last 16 years she has been a Senior Nurse Lecturer. During her career she has taught tens of thousands of nurses both post and pre registration and has also been a practicing clinical nurse for over 44 years. She was introduced to the business by her daughter Amelia Greenwood-Blott, who is the agency’s Senior Clinical Lead Nurse.
Her career began in 1974 aged just 17, at the local hospital. Here she started as a student nurse and eventually left in 1999 at Head of Nursing Development. Her extensive nursing career in four prestigious North West Hospitals have included her working in every clinical specialty, Surgical, Orthopedics, Accident and Emergency, Intensive Care and Medicine. She has developed nursing practice in two hospitals as Surgical Development Nurse and as a hospital wide Practice Development Nurse. She has also worked in clinical negligence supporting medical health care workers as a clinical risk manager. Her education has spanned 18 years, completing the Diploma in Nursing, BSc (Hons) nursing with education and two master degrees in Nursing and Law.
Marija will deliver specialist training internally for Local Care Force agency nurses and also externally for clients who deliver care for patients with complex care needs in Nursing Homes and Complex Care Homes.
On her appointment Marija, commented; “Nursing and teaching have been my life’s passions and so I am delighted to be working with the team at LCF delivering specialist training for its staff and clients. I’m extremely grateful to my daughter Amelia for introducing me to the business as nursing is all I have ever known, and having spent many years teaching students to become nurses, it will be wonderful to be working closely with post registration nurses teaching pure nursing care and developing their specialist skill sets.”

Established in 2004, Local Care Force has offices in Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester. It supplies workers to the nursing, healthcare and social care sectors and is the preferred supplier of many large private, public and charitable organizations. It also supplies to private hospitals including Nuffield and Spire and a number of prisons. Local Care Force provides temporary and permanent staffing solutions, including qualified and specialist Nurses through to Care and Support Workers. The agency has just under 50 employees and over 1800 staff working for them.
