Listed firm swoops for Leeds-based healthcare investment business
Primary Healthcare Properties PLC has acquired healthcare investor Chapeloak Investments Limited.
Chapeloak is the company behind the state-of the-art Oakwood Lane Medical Centre in Leeds, which is occupied by the Oakwood Lane Medical Practice and pharmacy business Kami Healthcare.
The commercial property arm of Yorkshire estate agents Dacre Son & Hartley acted for Chapeloak’s shareholders alongside a team from law firm Schofield Sweeney.
Doctor Jason Broch, of Chapeloak, said: “We were hugely impressed by the commitment of the teams at Dacres and Schofield Sweeney to support us through the sale process.”
Dacres’ David Ogilvie commented: “There was significant interest from a number of institutional investors in this high quality medical centre investment, confirming the appetite for long term secure rental income backed by the Government.”
The head of Schofield Sweeney’s Healthcare team, Rob Hayes, said: “It was great to work with Dacres and Chapeloak to deliver this disposal of one of the most successful modern Health Centre developments in Leeds.”
Corporate lawyers Dan Bisby, Chris Blantern and Helen Matthews assisted Rob with the transaction, while John Feaster and Melissa Wood provided tax advice.
