Nominations wanted for the North East Hotels Association Excellence Awards 2019

It’s time again to nominate and celebrate the achievements of the brightest and best hospitality service providers in the region.

Now in their 9th year, the North East Hotels Association Excellence Awards celebrates the talented people working in some of the region’s best-known hotels, who are delivering an outstanding service to guests and their local communities.

Lisa Crocker, joint chair of the North East Hotels Association and general manager at Staybridge Suites Newcastle, said: “The Excellence Awards recognise, reward and celebrate the very best that the North East tourism and hospitality industry has to offer.

“They pay tribute to emerging talent and seek to celebrate the people in our industry who continually strive to provide the best guest experience possible. If there is someone in your team who shines please nominate them.”

There are 10 categories to choose from, including warmest welcome, support services excellence, rising star, inspirational leader and best newcomer. North East Hotels can nominate people from their organisation who they believe deserve to win an award.

The winners and runners-up will be revealed at a glittering awards night hosted by the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead on Sunday 19 May 2019.

Around 400 guests and industry professionals attending the awards ceremony will also be treated to a prize-winning meal as part of the Excellence Awards dinner.

The Great North Menu, which runs in partnership with the Excellence Awards, is a prestigious cookery competition where talented chefs and rising stars working in the kitchens of some of the region’s best-known hotels and eateries, battle it out to produce a winning three course menu.

The competition is sponsored by North East specialist catering equipment supplier Crosby’s and run in partnership with Newcastle College Chefs’ Academy and the North East Hotels Association.

The North East Hotels Association is believed to be the biggest of its kind in England, representing 50 of the region’s best-known hotels including internationally and nationally recognised chains, and leading independent hotels.
