Newcastle’s Café Royal relaunches following four-week refurb
Newcastle-based Café Royal has reopened following an extensive refurb.
The eatery, based over two floors at 8 Nelson Street, worked closely with local interior design firm Abercrombies to transform its cafe into a more relaxing open dining space
Café Royal said its restaurant now features “warm natural hues and textures”, while the menu has been overhauled by head chef Gavin Groombridge and his team of kitchen staff.
The company is part of leisure operator Sir John Fitzgerald Ltd, which has 18 pubs and restaurants in the North East.
Gavin said: “We couldn’t be more delighted with the developments at Café Royal and we’re very much looking forward to reopening and welcoming our customers back to experience our new look and menu.
“Today is a milestone moment for our team at Café Royal, who have been working exceptionally hard over the last four weeks to bring our customers an even better, brighter and tastier offering.”
He continued: “Drawing inspiration from home and abroad, our new breakfast, lunch and drinks menus combine different ingredients, themes and flavours to create an outstanding variety of dishes which I hope will suit all tastes.”
