Private hospital in Yorkshire opens with HSBC UK funding

A new Yorkshire-based private healthcare provider, Kinvara Private Hospital, has opened in Rotherham with support from HSBC UK.

The acquisition and development of the state-of-the-art medical facility was supported by a seven-figure funding package from HSBC UK.

Kinvara Private Hospital is a multi-speciality hospital, introducing treatments in fields of orthopaedics, ENT, gynaecology, general surgery, and plastic and cosmetic surgery.

Suzanne Reynolds, director at Kinvara Private Hospital, said: “We’re incredibly proud to open Kinvara Private Hospital.

“Our first private healthcare centre, The Karri Clinic is extremely successful and has taught us that patients essentially want the highest level of experiential service - mirrored by the high quality interiors and standard of surgery.

“We will adopt the same values that created success at The Karri Clinic here but on a much larger scale. We believe opening Kinvara will improve the standard of care available to patients across the North of England.

“We are already booked up until April, so it’s been a very promising start to the business.”

Currently operating a four-bed facility, each with en-suite facilities, the next two stages of planned refurbishment could increase Kinvara’s capacity to up to 30 beds spanning two floors, with the range of available treatments also expanding.

HSBC UK funding was used to purchase the Rotherham site, which has now been refurbished to a five-star standard with cutting edge medical equipment and technology.

One of the surgeons at Kinvara, Mr Vasu Karri, is the leading expert in Lipoedema in the UK, a fat deposition disorder which affects 11 per cent of women. Kinvara Private Hospital aims to become a Centre of Excellence for his lipoedema surgeries.

Opening the hospital has created over 30 jobs, this figure could rise to over 100 new roles once the hospital is at full capacity, with the business keen to hire people locally.

David Leonard, relationship manager for Business Banking South and East Yorkshire, HSBC UK, added: “The scale of creating a new private hospital is obviously huge but the team working on this project have met every challenge along the way with positivity.

“From identifying and acquiring a location to extensively refurbishing it. They have excelled at finding effective business solutions to create a facility that resembles a 5-star hotel as much as a hospital.

“We’re delighted to support a business that can create multiple skilled job roles in South Yorkshire.”
