Gateshead-based Advantex to create 10 jobs after securing new contracts worth £2m
North East tech comms firm Advantex is increasing its workforce after landing a string of new contracts worth £2m.
The Gateshead-based company has secured additional orders for its network infrastructure services from Hitachi Rail to support its UK network of train depots.
Advantex already provides enterprise-grade network services to Hitachi’s huge assembly plant in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
The firm expects to see revenues for the 2018/19 year increase 27% and intends to hire for 10 new roles, including engineer and account manager positions.
The clutch of new work also includes a deal with travel agency Hays Travel to provide its new Sunderland head office and other sites with an internet-based phone system; and contracts with property firm Northumberland Estates and golf course operator Rockliffe Hall.
Steve O’Connell, sales and marketing director at Advantex, said: “We have worked hard to secure significant growth, so achieving more than £2m in sales is great news.
“With that comes the opportunity to expand the company, bringing on more people to fill key roles across the business.”
