Global logistics firm establishes UK HQ at London’s Here East tech hub
APL Logistics is moving its UK business into Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park tech campus Here East.
The international supply chain services company will occupy 8,644 sq ft in the site’s former Press Centre, where it will operate alongside digital comms firm Neopost and innovation hubs LC2 and Plexal.
APL Logistics designs and operates smart, globally integrated supply chains across sectors including automotive, retail and industrials.
It is part of Japanese freight forwarding giant Kintetsu World Express, Inc. and has its global HQ in Singapore.
Here East CEO Gavin Poole said: “Our aim for Here East has always been to provide a space where large global businesses are able to work alongside and collaborate with academic institutions and scaleups.
“APL Logistics’ decision to join our tech-focused campus shows their dedication to innovation and interest in collaborating with like-minded companies.”
He added: “This makes them the perfect fit for Here East and we look forward to welcoming them.”
APL Logistics UK’s managing director, David Ashcroft, commented: “The move to Here East marks an exciting milestone for APL Logistics.
“The business is constantly growing and being in the logistics industry coupled with provision of technology solutions meant that moving to Here East was a natural fit for us.”
He continued: “The ability to access and be part of the cross-sector innovation at Here East will allow us to continue to innovate and expand our business. We are looking forward to becoming part of the campus in the near future.”
Real estate investment, development and advisory company Delancey is the firm behind Here East, which is home to a curated community of tenants ranging from startups and creative businesses to academic institutions and global corporates.
