Sunderland-based Salamander Pumps boosts team with three new appointments

Sunderland-based Salamander Pumps, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of shower and domestic water pumps, has appointed three new Business Development Managers, following a successful year of growth for the company.

Ian Donnan, Matt Backhouse and Jonny Davis will be responsible for developing new and existing business, as well as building relationships and providing support to their accounts, increasing product sales, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

All three of the new recruits will be reporting into National Sales Manager, Adam Brand, in order to fulfil clients’ requirements, and will each be responsible for their own territory, including the South East, North West, North East, and Scotland.

Ian’s experience lies in the manufacturing industry, having previously worked as area sales manager for Polypipe. Upon his appointment, Ian said: “Having worked for a very large company previously, I’m delighted to be joining a smaller team, helping to secure new accounts and promote the exciting new products that Salamander are soon to be launching.”

Matt has previously worked in the trade industry, as a Sales Manager for Tradehelp. He comments: “Having been a strong advocate of Salamander in my previous role, I’m thrilled to be joining the team and contributing to the continued growth of the company.”

Jonny joins Salamander from RW Refrigeration Wholesale, where he worked as branch manager, and adds: “I’m really excited to be entering my new role in a new industry for me. I’m looking forward to gaining inside knowledge of the products and industry as whole, and to take on challenges of growing Salamander’s business in my locality.”

Adam Brand adds: “We’re delighted to announce the expansion of our team and we’re looking forward to seeing Ian, Matt and Jonny support the continued growth of Salamander Pumps. We have no doubt that they will all continue to help us increase sales and hit our ambitious targets in the months to come, and enjoy a fruitful career here at Salamander.”
