Beattie Expands Rapidly in the North

PR, marketing and digital group adds senior hire to Manchester and two new faces to its team in Leeds

Integrated agency Beattie Communications has made three new signings, bolstering ranks in its Manchester and Leeds offices and coinciding with some high-profile client wins.

James Tallis joins the Group from SkyParlour, heading up the Manchester office as senior account director, focusing on client delivery and new business growth in B2B. In Leeds, Jake Setterfield joins from Acceleris as senior account manager, working across national and regional clients including Tesco and VUE, with Russell Collins coming on board as an account executive from Midlands-based business development consultancy, Oaks.

Beattie Director, North and Midlands, Rachel Gladwin, said, “Beattie is a communications brand that has stood the test of time for over 30 years. In times of such uncertainty resilience is key and we are bucking the trend by investing in our talent. Great work starts with great people and James, Jake and Russell have already made a huge impact. Their varied portfolio of expertise is allowing us to eye rapid growth into new and growing markets. With a number of new client signings already in place for 2019 we have our sights set on ending our financial year on a high.”

James Tallis began his PR career at London technology specialist Brands2Life and brings a decade of experience in business and consumer PR. He has worked with big-name brands including T-Mobile, Logitech, Flight Centre, Ingenico and PayPal, across a range of regional, national and global campaigns. For the past five years he has focused purely on B2B, helping boost brand and executive profiles, delivering educational content and driving lead generation through integrated PR and marketing comms.

As a trained broadcast journalist, Jake Setterfield cut his teeth in television and radio before launching his PR career with agencies across Yorkshire and London. Working with some major consumer and corporate clients, he has delivered campaigns for regional, national and international clients. His brand experience includes working with John Lewis, Hammerson, Utilita Energy and Land Securities, where his journalistic background and creative campaign delivery helped clients get on top of the news agenda.

Russell Collins joins from a business development consultancy working with organisations in the charitable sector and multi-academy trusts, including the Tennis Foundation, ASDAN, Perry Hall MAT and the LEARNERs Trust. His remit was to support income generation targets, by implementing business development strategies and accessing grant funding through Trusts and Foundations.

Beattie’s Northern team holds national briefs for a varied portfolio of household name brands including La Redoute, Tesco, Biffa and Arla.

In October, Beattie revealed its new corporate identity, reflecting its joined up approach to creating greater impact across marketing and communications. The group retains the biggest footprint of any UK integrated communications agency, with offices stretching from London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester up to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
