Wates Group set to expand and boost portfolio in Rotherham and Barnsley
Affordable housing maintenance provider, Wates Living Space is expanding its presence across South Yorkshire.
The business is looking to grow its portfolio of housing repairs and maintenance in Rotherham and Barnsley.
The strategic growth plans will see Wates Living Space build on its contract portfolio in the county, which currently includes a £2.7m contract to install new external wall insulation to homes across Sheffield on behalf of Sheffield City Council.
As part of its plans to expand its operations, Wates intends to grow its network of South Yorkshire-based supply chain partners as well creating local opportunities for training and employment.
David Morgan, MD of Wates Living Space, said: “We have a very strong team in South Yorkshire with shared expertise across many elements of the housing industry.
“Through our strategic growth plans for the county, we hope to bring these skills and expertise to a number of housing repairs and maintenance programmes to ultimately give our clients’ residents and customers the high level of service on which we pride ourselves.
“With our business’ growth will come a commitment to create opportunities for our work to benefit our neighbours.
“As well as welcoming local people to train and work within our teams, we will also look to engage with community groups, schools and charities across Rotherham and Barnsley to ensure our presence in South Yorkshire becomes a meaningful force for good.”
The move will see the Wates Group look to grow its existing work pipeline in Rotherham, where Wates Residential North is currently building over 200 new homes in partnership with Rotherham Council as part of its Rother Living housing brand.
