Full Speed ahead for carnival sponsor
Ilkley-based online learning provider has signed a three-year deal to be headline sponsors of Ilkley Carnival.
High Speed Training which operates out of Riverside Business Park, has proposed the significant support package as part of its annual corporate social responsibility commitment to the local community.
The company’s sponsorship will contribute to the annual family-focussed event and ultimately help fund and support local groups, organisations, charities and schools.
High Speed Training was established in Ilkley in 2008 and offers online learning courses focused on compliance and development for public and business use. Operating on an e-learning platform, the company provides online learning programmes including food hygiene, workplace health and safety, business and finance and safeguarding people.
James Kemp, head of customer relationships at High Speed Training, said: “Many of the High Speed Training team took part in the Ilkley Carnival parade as children and with more than 50% of our staff living in or being local to Ilkley, supporting the town’s annual carnival – which does so much good itself in the community – was top of our list for our corporate social activity this year.
“We know from experience just how magical Ilkley Carnival is for locals and visitors, how important it is in the annual calendar for the wider Bradford district and what good it does for the profile of our town. To be headline sponsors is exactly the right fit for our business, our team and we hope, for our wonderful town.”
Ilkley Carnival kicks off on 6 May and this year’s theme is shows and musicals. The colourful parade will begin on The Grove and end on East Holmes showground, which will be host to an array of children’s activities, dog and vintage car shows, stalls and entertainment.
Andrew Stacey, chairman of Ilkley Carnival, added: “We are delighted with this terrific sponsorship which provides firm foundations for us to provide even more free entertainment and the best carnival ever. This is an event run by the community for the community and it’s humbling to know that High Speed Training see a real potential in the carnival and are dedicated to supporting their local area. As the carnival relies on volunteers and receives no extra funding, this three-year sponsorship is invaluable.”
