Expansion for recruitment agency following acquisition announcement

Leading South Yorkshire recruitment agency Glu Recruit has announced the acquisition of Tiro Talent Services amidst ‘ambitious’ growth and expansion plans.

Specialising in placing high calibre candidates in office support, sales and creative roles across Yorkshire and the Midlands, the news comes following a successful start-up period for the business which was established by entrepreneur Rob Shaw in 2016.

Having placed 220 candidates in over 100 businesses since launching, the acquisition of Tiro will see Glu further establish its presence across the Sheffield City Region, as well as secure access to a greater pool of clients and candidates.

Rob Shaw, Managing Director at Glu Recruit, said: “Glu has gone from strength to strength over the past two and a half years and has successfully built-up a strong reputation amongst its diverse client base and large, talented candidate pool.

“With our focus on high calibre recruitment solutions and customer service excellence, we are dedicated to helping both employers and candidates find their perfect match. We also work hard to support businesses as they strive to drive down staff turnover and develop the right culture within their organisations.

“Tiro Talent Services has a similar ethos to Glu and so, together, we can strengthen our service offering which will allow us to grow our own team as we strive to be bigger, better and stronger!”

Joining the Glu Recruit team as part of the acquisition announcement is Tiro’s founder, Lisa Betsworth, who takes on the role of Head of Client Partnerships.

Moving forward she will work closely with Glu’s expanding team to further promote the brand; ensuring the development and maintenance of strong relationships between the agency and employers across the region.

Commenting on the acquisition she said: “Glu has a well-established and well-respected reputation in the recruitment industry. The company’s ethos of ‘challenging the norm’ when it comes to recruitment appeals to both clients and candidates alike and I am delighted to be joining the team!”

Rob concludes: “We have enjoyed sustained growth over the past few years and are now in a position where we are looking to grow our team further to deal with increased demand from clients.”

The business has also announced plans to move to a larger office facility in the coming months in order to accommodate its expanding workforce.
