Swimtime UK nominated for major franchising award

Swimtime UK has been shortlisted for the Social Enterprise accolade at the bfa HSBC Franchise Awards, to be held at the Vox, Birmingham, on June 27.

In being shortlisted as finalists, Swimtime UK shows that its commitment and investment in people both inside and outside its business is all the more worthwhile, valuing individuals, progressive attitudes and social inclusivity.

Whilst teaching tens of thousands of people to swim each week, Swimtime wants to invest in its teachers, ensuring the highest of standards are not only met but being challenged. Robert Rowlands, Marketing Manager of Swimtime UK, stated:

“It is crucial, when it comes to child safety and development that we don’t just stand by the guidelines but to aim higher and become a part of the conversation to improve those standards, which Swimtime does on an international level with the ISSA (International Swim Schools Association).”

“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the Social Enterprise Award, especially seeing the other brilliant businesses that have been nominated, not just in our category but all the others too. We wish everyone the best of luck and look forward to June 27th.”

The awards evening is the flagship event in the franchising calendar and getting a nomination in itself is a major achievement, proving the business works ethically and in the best interests of franchisees and staff, fighting off many other companies vying for the accolade.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchising Association (bfa), congratulated Swimtime UK:

“Like riding a bike, once you know how to swim, you have those skills for life, and Swimtime UK enables so many young people to stay safe in the water.”

Andrew Brattesani, Head of Franchising, HSBC, said:

“Helping over 15,000 children to swim every week, Swimtime UK has clearly made a positive difference to the lives of many children and families in the UK, hence its nomination for the Social Enterprise accolade.”

Swimtime UK will go face-to-face against two other franchise units in June, one that hosts arts and crafts classes for children, and another that provides healthy microwave meals to your door.
