Gulf Aviation to help Delta Air Lines reach new heights

Aviation fuel supplier, Gulf Aviation, has secured a brand-new 12-month contract to provide fuel for Delta Air Lines, adding to its growing network of international airline carriers.

Delta is one of the world’s largest global airlines and the new partnership will see Gulf Aviation, which is fuel supplier Certas Energy’s aviation brand, providing fuel for its fleet of passenger aircraft at two of the UK’s busiest airports – Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow International.

Gulf Aviation already has a strong presence at both airports due to partnerships with a number of international airline carriers through the three major air alliances – One World, Sky Team and Star Alliance.

David Dykes, Commercial Manager at Gulf Aviation, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Delta Air Lines and the partnership is already off to a great start, as we’ve been busy building a strong relationship with their teams and have already started supplying fuel.”

“The new contract with Delta signifies our continued commitment to supplying international airlines and airfields with fuel, additives and lubricants. It also represents further progress for Gulf Aviation as we continue working hard to achieve our strategic growth objectives, building on the reputation we’ve established over the past eight years since we entered the UK’s aviation fuel market.”

Olen Bennett, Manager – Global Procurement and Operations at Delta Air Lines, added: “Within our industry, Gulf Aviation has a fantastic reputation for customer service and reliability, so we’re excited that we’re now working with them on a day-to-day basis.

“During the procurement process, they impressed us with their quality and attention to detail, so we’re absolutely confident that we’ve picked the right fuel partner. We’re looking forward to them supporting us with some of our new services from Glasgow and Edinburgh, including a new non-stop service from Boston to Edinburgh, which will begin in May next year on a 757 aircraft.”
