Luxury Boutique Geodesic Offering Coming To The North

Planning permission has been granted to a beautiful farm that will allow the building and opening of a five star, luxury Geodesic Dome holiday offering. The Private Hill will be the first of its kind in the North of England.

Work will start imminently on site, creating the ultimate glamping venue, with a projected opening date of June 1st.

The brainchild of Roddy and Jane Hamilton, The Private Hill will be situated in the heart of Thrussendale Farm in Acklam, near Malton, North Yorkshire.

Ideal for countryside lovers who appreciate the finer things in life, each of the domes will come complete with mains power, running water and full en-suite shower room with flushing toilet.

The luxury won’t end there as each dome will be furnished to a indulgent level, with king sized beds (or two large twins) and super comfortable bedding with choice of pillows, along with a log burner and a fully stocked minibar, making it the ideal break for unique romance.

Each dome comes complete with a small kitchenette, Nespresso coffee machine, Sonos music and many other luxury touches only usually associated with 5 star hotel stays.

There will also be a large reception dome, known as Jane’s Dome, that will be home to the breakfast and lunch restaurant, also serving afternoon tea, evening canapés and cocktails. This will boast stunning views of over 60 miles of the surrounding North Yorkshire countryside, and will have a large screen TV and a soft seating area perfect for relaxing after a day sight seeing or walking.

Roddy, who breeds pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle on the farm, and has worked with many high end brands throughout his illustrious food, drink and leisure career, has named each of the domes after one of his prize pedigrees.

Steaks from his home grown herd will be available to buy in the small shop onsite, and will be able to be cooked on the communal BBQ. The shop will also sell high-end, home baked cakes made by Jane and many other delicacies from local suppliers. Roddy said:

“This is a very exciting time for us. The Private Hill will be one of only a few developments of its kind in the UK, and the only one in the North. Our domes will be of the highest quality from Europe’s leading supplier, and will be furnished to the most relaxing and sumptuous level, with all mod cons and the best of everything.

“Ideal for romantic breaks for couples, the domes are perfect for two, although two children under 10 can also be accommodated in cool, hanging cocoon style beds in each dome.

“Local produce and suppliers will be key to our café, breakfast and afternoon tea offering and we aim to create a number of jobs in the area. We would like to thank Ryedale District Council for their support on this venture, which we are sure will be a boost to the local economy as it encourages more visitors to our beautiful village and area.”

The Private Hill will also be available for private events, group bookings and weddings once open.

The development involves an investment of £325,000 and is set on the edge on the North Yorkshire Wolds, ensuring the perfect combination of well being, outdoors, nature, history, luxury and privacy. More information can be found on the website or on the Facebook page.
