Historic Leeds performing arts hall chosen as Channel 4's new northern HQ
A Grade II-listed building has been selected as Channel 4’s new national headquarters in Leeds.
Also home to the former Majestyk nightclub, the old cinema and performing arts hall is to be transformed into Channel 4’s latest hub.
Today (March 19), Channel 4 announced the many departments and job roles to be based at its new HQ, with commissioning departments represented.
These include: Comedy; Daytime; Drama; Entertainment & Live Events; E4; and Factual.
Although the broadcaster isn’t set to confirm its new location for a few days, it can be said that this landmark building is being used for Channel 4’s new hub.
It was built in 1921, and has been used as a cinema, bingo hall, nightclub and ballroom.
It will be converted into 66,000 sq ft of office space by DLA Design.
