Middlesbrough Property Company To Revitalise Springfield Hotel Site With 8-Storey Student Accommodation in 2019

Middlesbrough property development company, HH Properties, is set to begin development of new student accommodation on the site of the Springfield Hotel. Plans have been drawn up and confirmed which will see the once popular pub turned into 8-storey student apartments with commercial elements on the bottom floor.

This latest venture by HH Properties is set to further revitalise areas of Middlesbrough and provide a cultural hub for students at the university. The building will house 98 self-contained student flats.

The Springfield Hotel is set the be demolished this year following public safety concerns by Cleveland Police. Set on Borough Road, the new student accommodation is in close proximity to Teesside University and popular student hotspots such as Linthorpe Road, Baker Street and Bedford Street.

Middlesbrough property developer Peter Hall, who is consulting on the project with HH Properties states.

“We’re looking forward to getting started with The Springfield Hotel project, we’ve always known that the location was prime for student accommodation and our plans are to create a hub for students to live, study and enjoy. The flats will be built to a high standard, offering exceptional living options for students at the university. The addition of commercial elements at the bottom will ensure this spot will thrive and become part of Middlesbrough’s rising appeal”

HH Properties has recently completed work on an ambitious holiday lets project in Skinningrove. The holiday lets consists of eight apartments with easy access to the Cleveland Way and East Cleveland. Working again with Middlesbrough born Peter Hall, HH Properties transformed the original plot of land where ‘The Square’ now stands. Once a working man’s club referred to as locals as an ‘eyesore’, the holiday lets are now an attractive and lucrative investment for potential buyers.
