Cubic Transportation Systems creating more jobs for Stockton with TfL move

Cubic Transportation System Ltd has completed the move of Helpdesk and Service Centre functions for Transport for London (TfL)’s Revenue Collection Contract.

It will be moved from Surrey to Cubic’s Global Operations Centre (GOC) in Stockton.

The GOC opened in 2016 to support Cubic’s UK and global projects on a 24/7 basis.

The strategic and collaborative opportunity between Cubic and TfL has helped inject a source of business into the local area and assisted with local recruitment, where staffing levels are expected to exceed 120 over the coming months.

In turn, TfL is said to benefit from the services the GOC provides, fundamentally enhancing the customer experience to the travelling public in London.

Ben Houchen, Tees Valley Mayor, said: “Cubic is a world leader in managing city-wide public transport systems, including Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, New York and Sydney, all from their Global Operations Centre in Thornaby.

“The news that it has now taken over the management of TfL’s revenue collection operations is a major coup for our region. London’s ticketing system is recognised around the world and helps more than 40 million people a week travel around the capital.

“Few people would think that the public transport systems for some of the world’s largest cities are run from our part of the world, but the fact that they are is testament to our highly-skilled workforce.”

To further support TfL in its mission to provide world class transportation services, where ‘Every Journey Matters’, Cubic has recently committed to the region by signing a new 10-year lease with further large scale refurbishment planned, during which, TfL operations will be continued to be managed from this facility.

TfL is the latest company to have its services managed via Cubic’s Stockton GOC, which supports Cubic’s UK and global projects on a 24/7 basis.
