Local family-run firm celebrates 30th anniversary of logistics business partnership
Independent vehicle-hire company, Arrow Self Drive is celebrating a 30-year business partnership with Harrogate’s logistics and exhibition services firm, Fishers of Harrogate.
Founded in 1988, Arrow Self Drive’s Knaresborough depot has supplied Fishers with 7.5 and 18-tonne trucks since its inception.
Formerly operating as Ready Drive in Knaresborough, Arrow Self Drive is a family owned business providing car, van, minibus and truck rental services to businesses in Yorkshire.
With Huddersfield headquarters, the firm has other depots in Wakefield, Bradford, Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley, Hull and Knaresborough.
Over three decades Arrow Self Drive has supported Fishers in providing logistics services to its customers nationwide. Arrow Self Drive also facilitated the firm’s expansion into the exhibition services sector in 2012.
Managing director of Arrow Self Drive, James Hill said: “Our long-standing partnership with Fishers is evidence of our commitment to building solid relationships with other Yorkshire businesses.
“Our values of honesty and integrity have taken us a long way since our inception in 1988 and we’re so proud to be able to celebrate thirty years of business with Fishers. We’re very much looking forward to watching our companies continue to grow together.”
Established in 1981, Fishers of Harrogate is a third-generation family business, specialising in logistics, exhibition and storage services.
Managing director, Alan Fisher, assumed his role in 2007, following his father, David Fisher’s retirement.
David Fisher added: “Over the years our business has changed quite considerably and Arrow Self Drive has been there to support us on our growth journey.
“At one time our main business was haulage and we used Arrow Self Drive for rentals of Sprinter vans and anything up to 7.5 tonnes.
“We wouldn’t use any other company for hire; their standards for maintenance and fully comprehensive service offers us a really excellent service that allowed us to expand without worry. The relationship between us has been effortless.”
