Housebuilder to open 12 new sites in 2019, supporting 1,108 jobs in West Yorkshire
Five-star housebuilder Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, has announced that it is to launch a series of new developments this year, which are set to support 1,108 jobs across the region.
This year £191,625,737 will be invested into the construction of numerous sites across West Yorkshire, creating 1,670 brand-new two, three and four-bedroom homes. The new developments will provide work for a number of disciplines, from construction trades such as bricklayers, electricians and landscapers through to head office support positions.
In addition to contributing to the regional job market, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West will also continue to support the local environments in which it builds. During 2018 alone, over 6,000 trees and shrubs were planted or retained on developments and 98% of construction waste was recycled. A further 14.7 hectares of greenspace was created through publicly accessible open space and private gardens, equivalent to around 24 football pitches.
Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, commented: “We’re delighted to continue contributing to the economy by providing local job opportunities for local people across the Yorkshire region. We’re excited to see construction progress on each of the 12 new sites and look forward to working with dedicated tradesmen and women over the next year to build more quality homes.”
