Westward Care announce completion of £4.3 million investment in Roundhay Retirement Apartments

Final phase of development of 31 Retirement Apartments with care and support provided on site completes

Westward Care, one of Leeds’ most trusted providers of tailored living and social care for older people have announced that the final phase of development at their Southlands location n Roundhay, Leeds is complete, representing the end of a £4.3 million investment at the iconic location.

The investment comes as the company continues to develop high-quality options for people in later life who want the reassurance of gold standard accredited care and support onsite and accessible immediately, if or when, they need it – but don’t want to move to a care home.

Peter Hodkinson, managing director of Westward Care, said: “We’re delighted to be able to announce that the final phase of investment in Southlands is complete and we look forward to welcoming new residents to our community. Unlike the majority of Retirement Apartments, we have pushed to innovate here around the model of care. Southlands is offering older people a true alternative in later life - we believe you do not need to be in a care home to get 24-hour care and support onsite. The service is built around the individual and therefore the individual only pays for what they use in accordance with their needs. The Apartments are the individuals own home and are purchased on that basis so they also get to retain their assets. Our focus has always been about providing options in later life – rather than just relying on a traditional ‘one size fits all’ care home approach.”

One and two bedroom Apartments are available from £180,000 – with the newly renovated and period Apartments starting at £250,000.
