Internal comms focus for new Northern SME network

Marketing agency Engage Comms has teamed up with video production specialist Reel Film to launch SME resource Internal Comms Network North.

The network aims to provide high growth businesses and entrepreneurs in the North of England with networking opportunities and support with strategic internal communications.

Otley-based Engage Comms and Harrogate-based Reel Film founded Internal Comms Network North after identifying a gap for a business network which emphasises the importance of internal communication strategy, as well as the effective use of internal video content.

Engage Comms co-founding director Helen Gill explained: “Internal comms often isn’t formalised within SMEs and is either an ‘add-on’ to marketing/HR or sits with the Ops Director as part of the day-to-day running of the business.

The network plans to hold regular events in the North, with key speakers at next month’s official launch event including Colin Middlemiss, group head of internal communications and engagement at EMIS Group plc.

Helen added: “We want to bring together and support those who are responsible for internal comms in their organisations to share best practice and discover how to make it an integral part of their business growth strategies.”
