Chasing the Stigma announces partnership with Crisis Text Line

Liverpool based national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma has announced a new partnership with Crisis Text Line, providing a 24/7 text service for those who are facing a crisis or feel they can’t cope and need support.

The service, which launched on Tuesday 2 April 2019, provides a new outlet of support for those who are facing a range of issues.

Jake Mills, founder of Chasing the Stigma, the Hub of Hope and the new Ambassadors of Hope programme, which provides training for organisations so that staff are able to help those in need, said “During this turbulent time for mental health services — in which those seeking help face waiting months on waiting lists or struggle to get a GP appointment to discuss their situation in the first place— this crisis line will offer a much-needed lifeline for those who feel they have nowhere else to turn”.

Offering support for those who are struggling with bullying, abuse, PTSD, a relationship breakdown, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and much more, Chasing the Stigma are proud to continue in the fight to break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage more people to speak out about their feelings through this text service.

By texting HOPE to 85258, individuals will be connected promptly to a trained volunteer who will provide support and help people move forward to the next step of seeking support. The service can also be accessed through the Hub of Hope app.
