Going the Extra Mile in a Streetcar
Whilst all of our students will be using the Easter break to revise for their forthcoming A Level exams, here at Newcastle Sixth Form College, we leave nothing to chance, with dedicated specialist visiting lecturers offering just that little bit of extra help in the final weeks before the exams start.
We were joined on site by visiting lecturer Paul Haworth for a guided series of sessions on ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ and ‘King Leah,’ for our A Level English Literature students. Paul Haworth provides a wealth of experience and knowledge plus a unique engaging delivery, in his one day programme which really enhances the quality learning already available to students.
With over 25 years’ experience working with the demanding A Level syllabus and an insight into the exam boards requirements for quality, Paul offered the students a detailed workshop on each of the texts, and brought the full years study together in an informative and engaging day long programme.
This type of session is typical of the type of additional support students at Newcastle Sixth Form College receive. We are always keen to go the extra mile to help the students get the results they deserve, and the turnout for these sessions show just how popular the use of expert lecturers have on bringing the subjects to life, and drilling into the core themes needed for academic success.
