Double nomination for inspirational Regenda Group

Staff and colleagues at The Regenda Group are gearing up for the Inspire Awards 2019 after being shortlisted for two awards.

The regeneration business will be represented by two of its subsidiary organisations, M&Y Maintenance and Construction and Positive Footprints, at the awards.

Gill Kelly, Managing Director of M&Y Maintenance and Construction, has been nominated for the Most Inspiring Role Model award.

Gill was shortlisted for her work in the male dominated construction sector, transforming M&Y Maintenance and Construction from a business with a £2m turnover in 2009 to a turnover of £32m in 2019. Gill has also spearheaded The Regenda Group’s LEAD programme, delivering coaching and training to staff across the business.

Gill Kelly, Managing Director of M&Y Maintenance and Construction, said: “I am delighted to be nominated for an Inspire Award.

“Since entering the world of construction, I have worked hard to empower other women and demonstrate that you can be successful in a male dominated sector.

“Through hard work, I have been able to transform my family maintenance business into a multi-million-pound organisation that is currently building homes across the north west.

“I hope that my journey can inspire the next generation of women in the sector.”

Personal development programme provider, Positive Footprints, will be hoping to take home the award for Most Inspiring Training Programme.

The Burnley based business was nominated thanks to its work with housing associations to help raise the aspirations of children in communities across the north west. Positive Footprints provided programmes which have helped teachers deliver more than 50,000 hours of careers-led learning and facilitated careers events, resulting in children meeting around six businesses each.

Lesley Burrows, Managing Director of Positive Footprints, said: “Everyone at Positive Footprints is ecstatic to be nominated for another award following our success at the UK Careen Development Awards 2019.

“We believe that where you start off in life should not determine where you end up, and our programmes provide a great opportunity to improve social mobility.

“Hopefully this award nomination will start conversations with even more businesses and schools in the region.”

Award winners will be announced at a glittering award ceremony at the Hilton Hotel, Manchester, on 5 June 2019.

The Regenda Group is a great quality, forward thinking business, regenerating places to create opportunities for people.
