Hertfordshire business supports Guide Dogs

During National Pet Month, a Hertfordshire business park is proud to announce its sponsorship of a Guide Dog puppy.

Breakspear Park in Hemel Hempstead is backing the charity Guide Dogs by giving money to the cause, to help train a new puppy. As part of the sponsorship package, Breakspear Park can name the trainee canine, and has asked all employees in the building to put forward their suggestions. The most popular male and female name will then be submitted.

The puppy will visit the staff at Breakspear Park when it is around 17 weeks old, during one of its first outings. With studies proving that petting an animal helps elevate stress, the sponsorship fits with Breakspear’s ‘Park Life’ campaign that aims to help improve the health and wellbeing of its employees.

It takes around two years to fully train a guide dog for it to be in a position to help give freedom and independence to a blind or partially sighted person.

Dina Mistry, Marketing Manager at Breakspear Park, commented: “We are delighted to be backing Guide Dogs. The charity’s ambition is for a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence and support to live their lives to the full. By supporting a new puppy going through training we are doing our bit to help the cause get one step closer to achieving this aim.

“We are looking forward to announcing the proposed names shortly, and welcoming our sponsored pup to Breakspear Park in the near future.”
