Opening up procurement to local businesses in the North West

Award winning Bloom Procurement Services partnered with Star Procurement to deliver an exclusive supplier event at Trafford Hall, Manchester, to raise awareness amongst local businesses about public sector tendering opportunities with Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford councils.

Formed in 2012, Bloom is the exclusive operator of the NEPRO professional services framework on behalf of NEPO – the North East Procurement Organisation. The framework was set up to help the public sector buy and manage professional services spend whilst achieving better outcomes and improving value. Specialising in bringing together buyers and suppliers, Bloom has over 6,000 suppliers registered allowing them access to opportunities across 300 public sector organisations. Already, the company has successfully completed 3,000 projects from very small to multi-million pound opportunities across the public sector including local authorities, hospitals, emergency services and education bodies.

Richard Beattie, COO at Bloom Procurement Services, said: “Public sector contracts are of huge benefit to business in the North West and as such we are delighted to partner with Star Procurement, who deliver procurement services to Stockport, Trafford, Tameside and Rochdale councils. STAR Procurement are a natural strategic partner to facilitate greater growth for businesses in the area and to strengthen the local economy.

“We are committed to opening up procurement across the North West, working with suppliers to help them win work both inside and outside of the region. We are able to introduce businesses to public sector contract holders such as the local councils, universities, NHS and much more.

“We had a fantastic turnout at the event and were able to inform potential suppliers about how they could work with us across 19 different categories of professional services spend including organisational and change management, construction, design and engineering, business strategy, information, communication and technology, finance, audit and accounting and many more. It was a great opportunity for local businesses to learn more about the benefits of joining an ever-growing community of buyers and suppliers, connected through the NEPRO neutral vendor solution.”

Robyn Gwilym, category manager – professional category at STAR Procurement, added: “It was nice to have a full house! It was also a great opportunity to network with a wide variety of suppliers and understand their experiences within public sector procurement.”
