Simon Alexander, Pneumatic Components

Pneumatic Components (PCL) has appointed Simon Alexander to the newly created role of category manager.

Formerly category manager at BPT for 22 years, Simon has also previously been a buyer for Wickes Building Supplies where he was responsible for all building materials and flooring.

Simon’s focus at PCL is reviewing the factored products category range, including hose reels, compressors and air tools, and identifying and introducing new products, taking them all the way through from initial concept to manufacture and distribution.

Simon Shorter, sales director at PCL, said: “Simon has the natural ability and knowledge to interpret customer requirements and then devise a solution that answers their needs.

“His appointment is key to growing the distribution side of the business, and with a strong understanding of how tooling works, different materials and manufacturing processes, we look forward to seeing the innovative product creations he will introduce to the range.”

Louise Rogers, Howarths

Yorkshire HR and employment law firm Howarths has expanded its team with Louise Rogers as business development manager.

Ms Rogers has joined the company from Citation, where she held a sales role. She will support the company as it looks to grow its SME client base across Yorkshire and the North West.

Robin Smith, Williamsons Solicitors

Criminal law specialist Robin Smith has re-joined Williamsons Solicitors following a 10-year stint with another firm.

He holds 30 years in defence work after qualifying in 1997, spending the earlier part of his career with Williamsons which has the largest criminal law department in East Yorkshire.

Mr Smith has represented clients at both the Magistrates and Crown Courts for offences ranging from traffic to murder.

He added: “It’s great that so many of the same staff that I worked with before are still here and that everyone is so committed to getting the best for clients.

“The support provided to solicitors in the department is possibly the best in the region and one of the reasons why the firm has done so well in this area of law. There is a true team spirit and I look forward to a long future with my ‘new’ colleagues.”

Nigel Hobson and Lee Worley, Cepac

Cepac has continued to grow the capability of its Rawcliffe facility with new appointments to the senior management team.

An appointment has recently been made within the team with the promotion of Nigel Hobson to the role of sales and commercial manager.

Nigel brings over 25 years of experience to his new position and his key task is to drive sales into additional added value areas for growth.

Operations has been strengthened considerably by the appointment of Lee Worley as operations manager enabling the site to build a highly skilled team focused upon new innovations and sustainable packaging across a wide range of sectors.

Lee has over 30 years of experience working in the corrugated packaging industry, 17 of those with Cepac.

Andrew Austwick, Finance For Enterprise

An experienced fund manager has been appointed as joint managing director at Finance For Enterprise.

Andrew Austwick will work alongside existing managing director, Arthur Foreman, with responsibility for the further growth and development of the long-established business loan fund provider, which operates from offices in Doncaster and Grimsby.

Andrew joined Finance For Enterprise in 2013 as an investment manager and has since risen through the ranks of the organisation. For the past two years, the former banker has been responsible for overseeing investment activity and managing fund performance.

Paul Beckett and Claire Bond, Sterling Capitol

Sterling Capitol has strengthened its team with two key appointments.

Paul Beckett joins as head of development, while Claire Bond is the company’s new financial controller.

The award-winning company, chaired by Sir Bob Murray CBE, owns and manages business parks across the county.

Paul said: “This is a very exciting and opportune move. Sterling Capitol have ambitious plans to further develop its Capitol Park business parks in Leeds, Barnsley and Goole and I will have an integral part to play in this, as well as further developing the Capitol Park brand throughout the North of England.”

Andy Collop, The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa

The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa, near Skipton, has appointed a new head chef to lead its 2 AA Rosette restaurant, Macleod’s.

Andy Collop joined The Coniston at the end of March 2019, following four years working at Grassington House Hotel where he was promoted from sous chef to head chef.

Andy will be responsible for driving the restaurant forward, improving standards and creating new and inspiring dishes that will feature on the seasonal menu for both residents and non-residents to enjoy.

Andy Collop, head chef of Macleod’s, said: “I’m very excited to have taken up the position as Head Chef of Macleod’s. It’s a fantastic time for the restaurant after it was awarded 2 AA Rosettes in November 2018.

“I’m looking forward to building upon the restaurant’s reputation, creating new menus that showcase the fantastic local produce that we have on our doorstep in the Yorkshire Dales. working towards further accolades in the future.”
