Together Housing picks Ward Hadaway for legal services framework
Ward Hadaway has been named as one of five successful bidders for Together Housing Group’s Legal Services Framework.
Together Housing is one of the largest housing associations in the North of England, managing more than 36,000 homes across Yorkshire and Lancashire.
In addition to providing rented accommodation, the not-for-profit organisation also builds and manages homes for sale through its Shared Ownership Scheme. It also provides sheltered accommodation and extra care schemes.
The appointment means that Ward Hadaway will be able to advise the housing association across a whole range of different legal services, including Housing Management law; Property law; Employment law; and Corporate, Financial and Commercial law for a period of four years.
Ward Hadaway’s Social Housing Group is headed up by John Murray and comprises specialists across the firm with in-depth experience and knowledge of the social housing sector. This includes Property partners Julia Thomson and Helen O’Neill, Banking and Finance partner Julie Harrison, Property consultant Mitch Brown, Commercial partner Colin Hewitt, Employment partner Paul Scope, Planning partner Kamran Hyder and Employment consultant Joe Thornhill.
The team at the Top 100 law firm, which has offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester, now represents more than 40 housing groups and associations on a nationwide basis. Recent successful tender wins include Great Places, Leeds Federated Housing Association, Your Housing Group, North Star Housing, Mosscare St. Vincent’s and Broadacres Housing Association.
Head of Social Housing, John Murray said: “Our success in this latest tender further reinforces Ward Hadaway’s position as one of the leading practices in the social housing field and is credit to the unrivalled expertise and experience of our housing team.
“We are absolutely delighted to be appointed to this latest legal services panel for such a significant and well-regarded organisation and are looking forward to growing our relationship with Together Housing.”
