Lightfoot launches fleet technology to consumer market at London Motor & Tech Show

Lightfoot, the creator of the first connected car technology to reward smoother drivers, is launching its revolutionary in-vehicle driver technology, known as the ‘Fitbit for cars’, to consumers at the London Motor & Tech Show held at ExCeL London (16-19 May).

Having refined its technology and rewards platform in the fleet sector - where it has been widely used by household names including Virgin Media, Greencore and South West Water - Lightfoot aims to make a major consumer breakthrough at the UK’s leading motor show, where it is launching to private motorists across the UK, for the first time.

Exhibiting at Stand 1562, Lightfoot will showcase its cutting-edge driver technology, demonstrating how its in-vehicle device can help drivers cut fuel costs by up to 20%, while reducing harmful emissions by 15-20%, at fault accidents by up to 40% and wear and tear costs by 45%. Lightfoot’s accompanying rewards platform will also be showcased, demonstrating how smooth driving can be made fun and rewarding, thus incentivising cleaner, greener and safer driving habits with perks typically worth £773.50 per year*.

The disruptive technology works by rewriting the relationship between driver and vehicle, helping motorists find their engine’s ‘sweet spot’. Turning engine data into real-time feedback, Lightfoot’s pocket-sized dashboard device improves driver efficiency to generate an immediate, positive impact on the environment and roads.

The motor show, which is the biggest to date, is expected to welcome over 60,000 attendees. Throughout the weekend, hundreds of cars from top manufacturers will be showcased alongside live stunts, displays and demonstrations, as well as guest talks from motoring legends and celebrities.

Mark Roberts, Lightfoot’s founder and CEO, said: “This feels like a huge step on our journey to change the way people think about driving, enabling us to introduce Lightfoot to thousands more drivers who care about the planet and their impact on it. The show is the perfect platform to demonstrate exactly how our innovative technology can benefit everyone who uses the UK’s roads – whether through improved vehicle efficiency, lower fuel bills, or reducing carbon emissions on a global scale.

“Following the show, we will be rolling out the consumer product across the UK, empowering people to make positive changes that are good for their wallets and the planet. Once you add all the savings and personal benefits together, driving with Lightfoot becomes a no-brainer – both for fleets and private motorists. We are confident that launching at the London Motor & Tech Show will be the trigger that enables us to become a global leader in low vehicle emissions.”
