Pegasus Group strengthens team in Leeds

Leeds remains a pivotal focus for ambitious growth plans by national consultancy Pegasus Group, with new appointments and promotions. The business, based out of offices in Garforth, has appointed Paul Bedwell as Senior Director who joins from consultancy Spawforths where he had worked for almost 20 years. Paul’s arrival follows the announcement earlier in the year of the promotion of Nigel Cussen to Senior Director. With specialist experience gained on major planning applications and appeals, Paul has acted as an expert planning witness at public inquiries, land tribunals and in the High Court, providing advocacy at numerous appeal hearings and examinations in public. Following Paul’s appointment, the number of senior directors in the Leeds office is now up to four Nigel joined Pegasus in 2012 having worked within planning consultancy since 1999. Prior to that, he was a planning policy officer in local government. Throughout his career he has worked for a diverse range of clients within development sectors including retail, residential, commercial, education, health and telecoms. His key experience includes the preparation of technical planning reports and provision of expert witness services. Head of the Leeds office, Executive Director Chris Calvert, said: “Our Leeds office, established in 2008, continues to play a strategically vital role as Pegasus Group expands and strengthens its services in the region. These appointments strengthen our role within the regional property market and our valued relationships with our clients. “We will have four senior directors in post, as well as strong teams across all of our specialist services - planning, design, environment and economics.” Paul Bedwell added: “This is an exciting new opportunity for me, helping forge and develop new projects. I am confident that my experience and network of contacts developed across the northern regions over the last 25 years will enable me to support the ambitions of Pegasus Group in its commitment to the region.” Nigel Cussen said: “Linked to our expansion into the North East, the Leeds office continues to develop our role within the northern property market. We are active in a variety of projects and sectors, which creates great opportunities for our team to be involved alongside our clients to deliver those schemes.
