Engineering company Statiflo makes strides Down Under

Engineering company Statiflo is expanding across Australia and New Zealand after recruiting business partners to spearhead growth in new markets.

The company has added Australian business Piping and Automation Systems and New Zealand-based Asmuss Plastic Systems to its growing network.

Statiflo, which has its headquarters in Macclesfield, Cheshire, and subsidiaries in the US and Germany, is a world leader in the design and distribution of static mixers and other process equipment.

It has traditionally supplied the water treatment industry in Australasia but through its new partnerships has expanded into the food and beverage and pulp and paper sectors, with orders for mixers for the processing of dairy products and for paper production.

Statiflo’s business partners distribute the company’s products and provide advice and support to customers in key markets across a variety of industries.

Paul Buck, general sales manager at Statiflo, said: “Australia and New Zealand are markets which offer great potential for us.

“The ease of doing business there with no language barriers, the strong economic growth of both countries and large-scale investment in the water infrastructure mean they are important and attractive territories where we can drive further overseas expansion.

“Alongside these factors, there is scope to develop our client base in new sectors such as mining.”

Nigel Langridge and Rodney Norman, managing director and sales manager of Melbourne-based PAAS respectively, first met Statiflo MD Gareth Fry at last autumn’s WEFTEC exhibition in New Orleans, the biggest annual water quality industry gathering of its kind in the world, to discuss a potential partnership.

Nigel then visited Statiflo’s head office to meet the team and receive product training. Afterwards, Paul flew to Melbourne to train PAAS employees and visit customers.

PAAS then introduced Statiflo to Asmuss, which has its headquarters in Auckland.

Earlier this month, PAAS exhibited at the Ozwater international water trade exhibition in Melbourne, which thousands of industry professionals attended.

At the same time, Asmuss showcased at the Water Industry Operators Group of New Zealand conference in Christchurch.

Paul said: “We are delighted to have two new business partners in Australasia.

“They give us a strong platform from which to grow our business in the region and expand into new markets beyond the water treatment industry. We look forward to the future with confidence.”
