Checkatrade.com gives tradespeople a voice through new creative partnership

Checkatrade, has formed a new creative partnership with leading design and communications agency, Sparkloop, to enhance communication with both existing and potential Members.

Initial works have included the creation of the business’ first ever brand guidelines and a Member’s Handbook, which explains the benefits of the directory membership, together with key insights into how to optimise member profiles, gather quality customer feedback and how to help shape the future of the company by joining the member’s board.

Positioned as the ‘bible’ for both existing and future Checkatrade members, the handbook is the first part of a brand refresh and communications programme for the online directory, where Sparkloop is now in the process of revamping membership comms across all touchpoints of the membership life cycle.

Gayle Carpenter, Creative Director at Sparkloop said “We are delighted to be appointed for the Checkatrade project and have worked hard to create a new handbook that would thoroughly showcase the ethos of ‘partnership’ between Checkatrade and its members by focusing on specific benefits, whilst positioning all members as trusted home experts.”

“Since this initial roll-out we have started to revamp all member comms through both digital and print campaigns including email marketing and helpful how-to-videos, which have been extremely well-received.”

The leading trades directory reached out to Sparkloop after being impressed by the agency’s notable brand positioning work with a host of corporates, start-ups and charities, including Red Bull, Autoglass and The Prince’s Trust.

Established in 1998, Checkatrade’s growing network of over 31,000 members have carried out jobs for customers valued in the billions.
