Pickard Properties reveals £40m build-to-rent scheme for Leeds area

Pickard Properties has launched phase three of £40m build-to-rent scheme Spinning Acres at Far Headingley.

Said to be in demand with the first two phases launched in 2018, there is a mix of 15 townhouses and detached homes as well as 31 new build apartments.

This time, a 200-year-old Victorian villa has been carefully redeveloped to create six exquisite apartments across three floors - three two-bed and three one-bed homes - for rental, either furnished or unfurnished.

Director Miles Pickard said: “We have developed our Cotton Works Phase 3 apartments with the discerning young professional, recent retiree or downsizer in mind - in fact, anyone who appreciates the fine architecture of a bygone era.

“At Spinning Acres, we are building a new community in this part of the city but revolutionising the rental experience so that it becomes a long-term housing option.

“We want our renters to put down roots here and with a location that’s just three miles to the north west of Leeds, they can have the best of both worlds - a career in the city combined with the peace and seclusion of the urban oasis we are creating on this six-acre site, which is located within the Far Headingley Conservation Area.”

The team of Halliday Clark (architect), Fox Lloyd Jones (project management and QS) and Dobson Construction, has been involved in the masterplanning and redevelopment of the site since it was purchased from University of Leeds in 2007.
