Auger gets gold for health and safety systems

Tech specialist for the insurance industry Auger has achieved the ‘gold standard’ in UK health and safety management after developing its IT systems and a number of apps to support the quality of information gathering for its staff and customers.

The company - serving the insurance industry for drainage and water mains claims across the UK - successfully came through a rigorous audit of its processes under the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system.

The standard specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system to enable organisations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as proactively improving its performance.

Sharon Kaye, Auger business process manager who led the project, said: “This is something we have been working on for some time so to gain the accreditation at this level is a credit to all of our employees. We all want to work in an environment where we feel safe, and the wellbeing of our staff is a priority for us.

“It was particularly pleasing because whilst a few of the staff selected by the auditors have only been here a short while, they were still able to provide the information required to meet the accreditation. This in itself is a testament to the success of our induction and core training programmes.”

Auger is recruiting for new staff in a range of roles around the UK including assistant engineers, drain repair engineers and drainage investigation engineers.
