Planning permission success for Leeds city centre build-to-rent property development
Local developer Oakapple Group has received planning permission for a 216-apartment build-to-rent development in Leeds city centre.
The ‘Fabrik’ scheme will see Oakapple develop a 12-storey block with basement car park and residents facilities on its Sweet Street site, in the south bank area of the city.
Chairman Philip Taylor said: “We are delighted to have received consent for our scheme which we feel will play a key role in the ongoing emergence of the south bank area.
“The project is part of our ambitious pipeline which we are looking to grow through the acquisition of similar sites throughout the region.”
The site forms part of the Holbeck Urban Village, a key area of the south bank regeneration initiative.
Oakapple expects to shortly announce the operator it will be working with to deliver the scheme with a start on the site anticipated early this summer.
